You’re a Number, Not a Name

You may or may not know this about bloggers but we are obsessed with our “numbers”. We want to know our stats almost by the hour. It matters to us how many people have looked at what we posted because we want to feel that we reached people and that they think we are worth their time. I know this all too well. Even if you are not a blogger, you know that you want someone to recognize your worth or the time you’ve taken to do something. For my part I want to apologize to you for this selfish ambition of mine, that I’ve just been seeking for as many people as I  can get to read this. I want to change my perspective on this completely so that you are not a number, but a name. The best way I know how to do this is to pray. So here is my prayer for you:

Father God,

I don’t know by name all the people that will read this, but you do (Isaiah 43). You knew each of us before we were born(Psalm 139:14). You are sovereign over every part of our lives. You give us what we need. God, I’m sorry that I have been heartless in my writing and not rejoiced over the idea of just one person being encouraged by what he/she has read. They are individuals and each matter. Forgive me, Lord. Help me to think about my readers as you do, as individuals. Please work through my writing that they may know the hope of life that is only found in your Son Jesus Christ. Most importantly, may you be glorified in all that we do.

Readers, I want to ask for your forgiveness as well. You are a name to our Father in heaven, not a number. I will be praying for all of you. If you have specific things you would like Lauren and I to pray for feel free to send us an e-mail (aehanniga@gmail or laurenb787@gmail.com) or connect with us on Facebook.
